Speedway is a worldwide sport and has hundreds of thousands of fans watching it every season. A race has 4 riders racing around an oval track for 4 laps - it’s all over in less than a minute. Speedway bikes have 500cc single cylinder engines, use fixed gears, and have acceleration to match Formula 1 race cars, they have NO brakes and virtually NO suspension!

Speedway is strongest in Europe UK, Sweden, Poland and Denmark. All of these countries run a number of leagues and have regular fixtures throughout the traditional speedway season that runs from March to October. In NZ we run from October to April. As well as Europe, speedway on a smaller scale operates in Argentina, Australia, Czech Republic, Italy, Russia, Slovenia, USA and New Zealand.
